A goalkeeping masterclass with the O's Arthur Janata

Arthur Janata, Leyton Orient’s 18 year old goalkeeper delivered a specialist goalkeeping session at Fairlop Oak Playing Field on 10th April. Currently on loan to Bishop’s Stortford, Arthur kindly stepped in at the last minute as project ambassador Alex Lawless had suffered concussion in the match the previous evening and was under doctor’s order to rest.

The goalkeeper has been at Leyton Orient since he was 8 years old and obviously has a strong affection for the club. He had heard about the great work of Coping Through Football from Lead Coach Howard Gould and was keen to visit the project. He enjoyed delivering the session and commented on how well the participants had listened to his instructions and adopted the practices he had demonstrated. After the session he took time to answer questions from the group, particularly from the goalkeepers who asked for advice on improving their own techniques and were keen to hear how his training programme differs from the outfield players.
